Letter 6 — September 6, 1865
“I got the fifty cents you sent me, I allow to keep it”
I seat myself to let you know how I am, that I am not very well, I have got a bad cold now. I got the fifty cents you sent me, I allow to keep it. I did not get my book you sent me, I was sorry that I did not get it. I would like to see you very much if I could. You must come up whenever you can. I guess I will bring my letter to a close for this time. Please excuse my bad scribling and mistakes, so good bye. Write soon.
