Letter 44 October 26, 1873

“You asked me what I was going to do this winter, well as I have no home, I thought I would get married.”

I seat myself to let you know that I am well at present hoping when these few lines reach you that they may find you the same. We had quite a snow storm here last Tuesday, it snowed about all day. This was our last Sunday of Sunday School for this fall. I don't know what Lide Wallace and Lem is a going to do, they would like to get married if they had the money I guess, but they neither one have anything to get married with. Mr Noah Ernst was buried last Sunday, he died with the erysipelas. Cal calls her boy after Reuben. My time will be out the 12th of November. You asked me what I was going to do this winter, well as I have no home, I thought I would get married. We are going to be married the 18th of December if nothing happens and we want you to come up then or before if you can. Might as well come up here and stay all winter and longer if you want to. Write and tell me when you will come and I will meet you at the train any time.

Well I must bring my letter to a close. Ellie sends her love to you. So good bye Write soon
