Dear Mother I take my pen in hand to let you no that I receved your letter and was very glad to hear from you and to hear that you was well we are boath well at present and hope when these few lines come to hand that they may find you all injoying good health there is nothing a going on heare now of eny importence there has not bin so much picket fireing for the last week or too as there was when we first com hear we have got our winter qurters bilt our regiment is on picket today they have to go on picket every six days the pickets are so clost that they can talk to won another there is som dezerters comes over every day asom of them say that Jef Davis is a making preparacions to vacuate richmond well I onely hope that he will leave there and I think the wor will son come to a close fr then we can have som chance at him I saw in the paper the other day that the rebels had a pointed thirteen piase commissheners to go to Washington to see Linken and to see if they cold setel this wor I hope that they will suceed and settl it this spring I am staying with D Eversole and Chaplen Miler a brother to Harson Miler I am taken care of there horses well I receved that money that you send me I wold like to be there to go a hunting well I must close no more at present but remane yours un till death
