Dear Muther It is with pleasur that I take my seat this morning to rite yoy a few lines to let you now that we are a live and well and hope when this comes to hand it may find youens enhoying the same gods blesing well Muther we have had a pretey rough time ove it since we came to this place we got here tne 1 of june the compney wase all put out on the scrmish line but fore ore five ove us Moses Zegler was cild on the sxirmish line on the 1 he was shot throce the hart the boys cred him back and beraed him on the 3 we advanced on the rebs with in five hundered yards ov the rebs wlrks and threw up wrks we had fore men wonded Wm Wise Elias Mot Jame Keley Aron Polhemus Wm Wise wase wonded with a buck snot it went in under his eye and down throce the roof ove his mouth the last we herd from him ne wase a geting a long verey well Mott wase shot throce the neck and left brest the ball went in throce his wine pipe and went down throce his left lung we thot he wase a ding when we cred him back to the hospital but we herd from him this morning he is a geting a long very well James Keley wonded in the left brest A Polhemus in the leg since we left camp there hase ben 225 cild and wonded in the 1lo reg ourer compney hase ben verey luckey we have the largest Co and the lest kild and won ded there hase ben 2 kild and 8 wonded we hope the day is not far distent when fiting will be over we are within five miles ove ricnmand and we recvd your letter May the 23 we have onley recvd too leters from you since we left camp we can get the mall every day now rite often well I must close my love to all enquir frends and save a fore your self so good by this time
