Letter 30 — Sept the 27, 1871
“Me and Ellie is getting along the same as usual.”
I seat myself to let you know that I am well at present hoping when these few lines reach you that they will find you better. I am going to the state fair tomorrow. I wish you could have come up to the fair. Uncle Toms was here last Sunday week. They were all well. Uncle Tom bought a sewing machine Wheeler & Wilson. I received the paper that you sent me. There was some good reading in it. Me and Ellie is getting along the same as usual. We have a change in housekeepers. Annie has left us and Lide has come back. John's boy is getting along tolerable well. Reuben's babies has not been very well but are better now. The smallest one is beginning to walk. Well, I must bring my letter to a close for this time. So good bye. Write soon and do not wait as long as I have.
