Letter 1 — April 5, 1857

We are all well at present and we received your letter the 3rd of April, Thomas's family is all well except Henry. Alonzo is well and he says he is going to have all the Easter eggs he can get, he wants you all to cime and eat eggs with him at Easter. He is a good boy and learns his book well. I want you to come and see us as soon as you can. (Anna?) is look for you long time ago. We look for a letter but we look in vain. Old Mr Brendle is dead, he died the 27 day of March he was buried on Sunday, ther was a great many people at his burial and Mr Wilson preached his funeral. He took sick on Tuesday and he suffered very much but his suffering is done in this world. I want you to write soon as you get this and let us know how you all are. Anna Bell I would like to see you very much. Dear girl we miss your company very much. I kissed Alonzo for you I give hime a sweet one and he cried about it.
